Congratulations to both our one act play entries in the Oxfordshire Drama Network Festival, and the Wallingford Festival. Both casts and crews put a huge amount of time and effort into their entries and we are proud of their achievements.
Now the drama festivals have finished, we go into what we traditionally think of as ‘vacation mode’. We have nothing in rehearsal until September and this is supposed to be our quiet time. But at the moment it seems pretty busy. We have our 60th Anniversary Quiz Night, 7.30pm at the Village Hall on 20 June, then our stall at the village fete on 27 June, and of course several of us are involved in The Film. We are also organising our Children’s Workshops, which will take place in August. More info on these next month.
We begin planning our performance schedule for 2010, which involves potential directors and other Group members ‘making a pitch’ for a play they would like to see performed next year. And then start research on our November production, Still Life by Noel Coward, better known to most of you as the basis for the 1945 film Brief Encounter, a real weepie. So get your hankies ready! Auditions soon follow, and then it’s September and back to rehearsal.
If you are interested in joining us in any of these activities, we would love to see you. We meet at 7.30pm in the Village Hall every Tuesday night. Do come along, or have a look at our website: http://kbdgshow.biz/ for more information on the Group.
